Samsung Introduces 2000nit 70-inch LCD panel

  • Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is a global leader in semiconductor, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence technologies with 2007 consolidated sales of US$105 billion. They have launced their latest 70 inch diagonal super bright LCD digital signage panel. This new LCD is one thrd brighter than the previous brightest digital information display. It will be available for use in digital signs of transit centers, bus shelders, museums, and for the outside of retail cents.

    “We developed this DID panel to jump out and call to you anywhere it’s used, making a statement of rich, vivid imagery that passersby can’t help but appreciate,” said Scott Birnbaum at the press conference , vice president, Samsung LCD Business. “Advertisers, outdoor media companies, cities, universities, hotels and malls will be thrilled with this super bright, super-sized display that will command the most regal of appearances when the weather is dismal or even on a very bright summer day,”

    A 2000nit 70-inch LCD panel offers advanced commercial DID system funationality and make it more reliable for 24×7 viewing. It provides a Full HD screen resulotion with 16.7 million colors. Weighing only 80 kilograms, it gives the widest viewing angel available. The panel is 1630 millimets, wide by 952mm high by 129.6mm deep and just like our latest cell phones it can be used in either a portrait or landscapre format.

    According to Samsung thei new LCD DID panel gives a unique brightness control feature that enables that allows outdoor advertisers to lower the brightness level at night to the level of a conventional HDTV.

    Samsung will begin sampling its 70-inch, 2000nit display at the end of this year.
