Sony Unveiled the world’s highest resolution CMOS image sensor camera

  • Sony has unveiled the availability of its new series of ultra small form factor and a high resolution 5.15, 8.11 and 12 megapixel CMOS camera. It’s known as IMX060pq and it features 1/2.5 sensor with 12.25 effective megapixel. The company claims that it is the world’s highest resolution CMOS image sensor in this industry.

    4040(h) x 3032(v) 1225 million pixel and diagonal 7.1mm square pixels

    IMX046PQ
    3288(h) x 2468(v) 811 megapixels and diagonal 5.76mm square pixels

    IMX045PQ
    2616(h) x 1968(v) 5.15 million pixels and diagonal 4.5mm square pixels

    The new mobile series is expected to be available to commericial market by first quarter of 2009.
